Zebra Haworthia Fasciata

Zebra Haworthia Fasciata

Zebra Haworthia (Haworthiopsis fasciata)

Plant Description:
Zebra Haworthia is a compact, slow-growing succulent with rosettes of dark green, pointed leaves marked by distinctive white, horizontal bands on the outer surface, resembling zebra stripes. The leaves are thick and slightly rough in texture, forming dense clusters over time. It occasionally produces small, tubular white flowers on long, thin stems in warm seasons.

Grow Zone:
Best grown as a houseplant in all USDA Zones or outdoors year-round in Zones 10–11, where temperatures stay above 50°F. It cannot tolerate frost.

Height and Width:
Typically grows 4–6 inches tall and 3–5 inches wide, forming clumps as it matures.

Uses:
Widely used as a low-maintenance indoor plant for desks, shelves, and windowsills. Suitable for dish gardens, terrariums, and small rock gardens in warm climates. It is also popular for modern and minimalist décor due to its striking foliage and compact size.

Native Range:
Native to South Africa, where it grows in rocky, arid environments and is adapted to tolerate drought.

Sun and Water Requirements:
Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct morning or late afternoon sun. Prefers well-draining, sandy soil and should be watered sparingly, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. Overwatering should be avoided to prevent root rot. It tolerates low humidity and prefers a warm, dry environment.
