Vinca Major Variegata

Vinca major 'Variegata', commonly known as Variegated Periwinkle, is a trailing or spreading evergreen perennial with green leaves edged in creamy white and beautiful blue-violet flowers that bloom in spring and intermittently throughout the growing season. This fast-growing plant is widely used as a ground cover due to its vigorous spreading habit.

Native Range

Native to southern Europe and northern Africa, Vinca major thrives in temperate and Mediterranean climates.

Growing Zones

• USDA Hardiness Zones: 6–9 (perennial evergreen ground cover)

• In colder zones (below Zone 6), it may die back but return in spring.

• Width: 2 to 5 feet (trailing, spreading habit)

Growing Conditions

• Light: Partial shade to full shade; tolerates some sun but prefers filtered light.

Pruning & Maintenance
