Sweet Drift Rose
Sweet Drift Rose
Sweet Drift Rose (Rosa ‘Meiswetdom’)
Plant Description:
Sweet Drift Rose is a compact, low-growing shrub rose known for its abundant, small, double pink blooms with a light fragrance. The flowers appear continuously from spring through frost, set against glossy, dark green foliage. It has a spreading, mounded growth habit and is bred for exceptional disease resistance and low maintenance.
Grow Zone:
Perennial in USDA Zones 5–10.
Height and Width:
Typically grows 1.5–2 feet tall and spreads 2–3 feet wide, forming a dense, rounded mound.
Uses:
Ideal for borders, edging, mass plantings, containers, and as groundcover. Often used in foundation plantings or to add continuous color to mixed garden beds. Its compact size makes it suitable for small spaces, and it performs well in both formal and informal landscape designs.
Native Range:
Developed as part of the Drift series of hybrid roses, which are derived from modern rose cultivars and do not occur naturally in the wild. Parent species originate from Europe and Asia.
Sun and Water Requirements:
Thrives in full sun, requiring at least six hours of direct sunlight daily for best blooming. Prefers well-drained, fertile soil and benefits from regular watering, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Consistent moisture and balanced fertilization during the growing season encourage abundant blooms and healthy growth.
