Peperomia polybotrya 'Raindrop'

Peperomia polybotrya 'Raindrop'

Raindrop Peperomia is a compact, tropical perennial prized for its thick, glossy, heart-shaped leaves that resemble raindrops. Its foliage is a deep green, sometimes with a subtle sheen, and the plant occasionally produces slender, tail-like flower spikes. It is grown primarily as an ornamental houseplant for its attractive foliage and ease of care.

Grow Zone: USDA Zones 10–12 outdoors; commonly grown as a houseplant in all zones.

Height and Width: Typically 12–15 inches tall and 8–10 inches wide when mature.

Uses: Ideal as an indoor decorative plant for desks, shelves, and windowsills. Works well in small containers, dish gardens, and mixed plant arrangements. Appreciated for its low-maintenance nature and air-purifying qualities.

Native Range: Native to South America, particularly Colombia and Peru.

Sun Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate medium light conditions but should be protected from harsh direct sun, which may scorch the leaves.

Water Requirements: Likes evenly moist but well-draining soil. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, reducing frequency in cooler months. Sensitive to overwatering, so it should not be left in soggy soil.
