Horsetail plants arevascular plants that reproduce by spores, similar to ferns.They have hollow, jointed, ridged stems that are usually green and photosynthetic. Horsetail has been used as an herbal remedy since ancient Greek and Roman times.The name Equisetum comes from the Latin words equus, meaning "horse," and seta, meaning "bristle".
