Helianthus 'Suncredible Yellow'

Helianthus ‘Suncredible® Yellow’ is a mounding, heat-tolerant sunflower variety that produces abundant, 4-inch bright yellow blooms with dark centers from spring to frost. Unlike traditional sunflowers, it is branching and continuously blooms without deadheading. This variety is known for its strong stems, resistance to disease, and ability to thrive in hot, dry conditions. It attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies and provides seeds for birds in late summer and fall.

Native Range

Growing Requirements

Light

• Requires full sun (at least 6-8 hours per day) for optimal growth and flowering

Soil

• Prefers well-draining, loamy soil but tolerates poor soil conditions

• Optimal soil pH: 6.0-7.5

Watering

• Water regularly until established, then moderate to low water needs

• Drought-tolerant once established but benefits from occasional deep watering

Fertilization

• Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer at planting

• Additional feedings every 4-6 weeks with a bloom booster fertilizer can enhance flowering

Pruning & Maintenance

• Deadheading is not required, as it continuously blooms

• Trim lightly if needed to maintain shape

• Can be staked in windy locations for added support
