Bird of Paradise 'Orange' is a striking, tropical-looking perennial known for its bold, architectural foliage and vibrant, crane-like orange and blue flowers. The glossy, banana-like leaves grow in a clumping habit and provide year-round interest, while the exotic blooms appear mostly in late winter through early summer, especially in warm climates.

Grow Zone:
USDA Zones 9–12. Can be grown in containers and overwintered indoors in cooler climates.

Height and Width:
Mature height ranges from 4 to 6 feet tall, with a spread of 3 to 4 feet.

Uses:
Ideal as a focal point in tropical or Mediterranean-style landscapes, borders, and container gardens. Often used around pools, patios, or as an accent plant. Suitable for indoor use in bright, sunny rooms.

Native Range:
Native to South Africa.

Sun Requirements:
Prefers full sun for best flowering, but can tolerate partial shade. Indoors, place in a location with bright, indirect light or direct morning sun.

Water Requirements:
Moderate water needs. Water regularly during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering in winter. Requires well-drained soil and does not tolerate waterlogging.
