Coleus ‘Kingswood Torch’ is a striking, heat-tolerant ornamental plant known for its bold, vibrant foliage. Its large leaves display a deep burgundy to purple-red color with bright magenta highlights, making it a standout in garden beds and containers. This variety is grown primarily for its foliage rather than its flowers, and regular pinching can encourage bushier growth while reducing flowering.

Native Range

Growing Requirements

Light

• Prefers partial shade to filtered sunlight

• Can tolerate full sun but may require extra moisture to prevent leaf scorch

Soil

• Well-draining, rich, moist soil with organic matter

• Prefers a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0-7.0)

Watering

• Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy

• Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings

Fertilization

• Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2-4 weeks during the growing season

• Too much fertilizer can reduce leaf vibrancy

Pruning & Maintenance

• Pinch back growing tips to encourage bushiness

• Remove flower spikes to maintain vibrant foliage
