Weeds With Purpose - Identiying Medicinal and Edible Weeds In The Lawn and Garden
Learn how to utilize common weeds growing in your backyard in 'Weeds with a Purpose', led by LSU undergraduate, Hannah Cauley-March. Learn which plants could be used medicinally or could be a nice backyard snacking opportunity.
Participants will walk around the lawn as a small group at The Boho Being. Hannah will share the scientific and common name of the varieties as well as their uses. Please dress appropriately as this is an outdoor class. Participants are encouraged to take notes and pictures of the plants identified.
Registration is required. This class is limited to 10 registrants.

About Your Presenter:
Hannah Cauley-March is a Louisana State University Undergraduate Student with a major in Natural Renewable Resources. When Hannah is not attending class or a club event, she maintains a position with the Shirley C. Tucker Herbarium, mounting specimens gathered by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries' Botanist and volunteers as a teacher's assistant for Taxonomy of Woody Plants, under the tutelage of Doctor Reid. Hannah is also the Secretary of LSU's Botany Club and a member of Sigma Alpha, the College of Agriculture's Social and Professional Sorority. In Hannah's free time, she fulfills her passion for wild, edible, and medicinal plants through the collection, study, usage, and mounting of specimens found throughout southeast Louisiana.
