Hibiscus Benefits and Uses

Hibiscus Benefits and Uses

Hibiscus helps lower blood pressure and sugar levels in the body and eases mensural pains. Hibiscus has sweet and tart flavors and is compared in flavor to cranberry. Hibiscus tea has also been used to decrease body temperature, treat heart disease, soothe a sore throat, boost liver health and promote weight loss.

How to Make Tea:

Put herbal tea into a tea bag, or tea infuser. If you don't have either, you can put the tea in a pot of your choice. Put your teabag, infuser, or uncontained tea in a small pot. Cover with boiling water and allow to steep 3-5 minutes or longer for a stronger, more robust flavor. (It's always good to preheat the pot and the serving cup with hot water; this will ensure a cup of hot tea at serving.) Allow your tea to cool to a comfortable drinking temperature before straining into a teacup. Sweeten with honey (optional)
